Welcome to my first ever High Five For Friday!!
I’m going to have a lot of “first evers” on here because
well, this is only my third blog post! However, I’m particularly excited about
joining in on this HF4F!! It’s always fun to read a little recap of other
bloggers weeks and it was fun for me this week to think back on how awesome
life is! I love the sense of community and support for one another during all of the H54F posts!
A big thank you to Tif at Bright on a Budget, Caitlin at Coffee With Caitlin, Della at Della Devoted and Katie at Cup of Tea for hosting!!
Here it goes..
1. On Sunday we celebrated the 4th of
July with my hubby’s side of the family. We went to a cute park near where he
is from and grilled burgers and just hung out all afternoon. While it was a
little hot out – we found the perfect shaded area that was also private! It was
so nice to just get to hang out and chat with everyone!
Tommy and I at his family picnic! Everyone wore red, white and blue! May or may not have been my idea - I love anything with a theme!! My monogram shirt is from Marley Lilly. |
2. 2. On Tuesday we had my mom and step-dad over for
dinner at our apartment. We made shrimp tacos and mahi-mahi (I guess we could
have called it Taco Tuesday!). This was
our first time making both dishes. While
I thought the mahi-mahi was okay --- I loved the shrimp tacos!! It was a great
summer meal and I will definitely be making them again!
3. I’m so happy and so excited about starting my
blog!! This is something I’ve been thinking about doing for a long time but I’ve
been too nervous! If you have any tips for me I would loooove to hear them!

4. I'm trying to enjoy this whole “job search
process”. Even though I’m getting quite antsy, I keep telling myself it’s only temporary
and I need to enjoy this mini-vacation while I can. For instance, getting some
extra snuggles in with my cat!
5. Last night we got to have a little date night at
home including ice cream and a redbox! We rented Jupiter Ascending (Tommy has
been wanting to see it since it hit theaters). While I wasn’t exactly pumped
about watching it - I figured if it had Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, it couldn’t
be too painful! It was a little sci-fi for me but overall, not a bad movie! I
mostly just enjoyed the ice cream and snuggles!
Okay so there you have it! My first HF4F! I’m
looking forward to finding some new blogs to binge read! :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
Love always,
Lis
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!!! I'm just so excited you joined us for your first H54F!
ReplyDeleteYour 4th of July celebration sounded like the perfect celebration to me. Laid back, having fun with family. I love that monogram shirt you have! And totally hear you about being nervous about blogging. I STILL am terrified! HAHA! But just write what you want to write about, and please don't compare yourself to anyone. Make this your little home. And ice cream + redbox = the perfect date night. Fun!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend! (And now to catch up on your other first blogs!)
Katie @ Cup of Tea
Thank you so much for stopping by Katie!! I was so excited when I saw I had some comments! :) Thank you for the great advice as well!!
DeleteHello! Stopping by through the linkup. Welcome to the blogging world! I totally agree with Katie; blog about what you want! There are SO many 'guides' out there that tell you what you should and shouldn't do that it can be overwhelming. So just be yourself and write about what you like!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to the job searching, it sure can be frustrating but it can also be used as a nice time to refocus and recharge.
Have a great weekend!
Hi Nicole! Thank you so much for stopping by! I'm trying to enjoy this time "off" and do things that I wasn't able to do while in school! Thanks for the advice :)
DeleteHooray for your first H54F!! :D There is such a sweet group of gals who link up and I'm so glad to have you joining us!! YAY! :) What a fun week to kick off your 1st linkup post with! Sounds like you enjoyed a fantastic 4th, a great night trying out new recipes with family, and redbox + yumminess makes for the perfect date night in! :) As for blogging advice, I'd just say try not to get caught up in comparing your blog to others, and avoid getting wrapped up in the numbers game. Those kind of things take all the fun out of blogging. Remember this is YOUR fabulous corner of the blogosphere -- enjoy filling it with all your favorite things!! :) Linking up to parties like H54F is a wonderful way to connect with other bloggers. When you visit blogs always be sure to leave a comment and include a link back to your own blog. Most bloggers will return the visit. :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to enjoying your future posts, both here and on instagram! ;)

Hi Brenda! Thank you for the great advice! You are totally right - sometimes it's hard to compare my baby blog to some of the awesome blogs I've seen! I'll make sure I keep that in mind :) Thank you so much for stopping by!!
